THE PROJECT

IMAGINE-book-for-AI_sense fons.png

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one.

This project is called MUSIC IS POWER! because it wants to get you inside the power
of music to change and improve our world and our lives.

Since long time ago, protest songs like Imagine by John Lennon and Yoko Ono have been used as anthems to fight war, racism, sexism, social inequality, environmental degradation, and so many other important problems. In this project, you are going to listen to some of these songs, understand their lyrics, discuss their messages, and learn about the situations that made the composer write them.

Sometimes, music has made a difference for people - especially children - who lived in difficult conditions, helping them to change their lives for good. You are going to learn about them too.

But you are also going to talk about what music represents to you, share with your classmates your favourite tunes, write your own lyrics... and many more things.
